Joan was born in Vancouver  but was raised and still resides in Prince Rupert  , a remote community on the Northern Coast of British Columbia.  Since 1996 Joan has actively perused her interest in art. She is mainly self taught but has attended several “invaluable” Art Workshops instructed by well know Canadian Artists.  At this time the main thrust of her work is experimental in nature involving the use of several mediums where she continues to explore her skills in composition, value, design and colour.
Joan is honored to be an Active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists.
